There are millions of people--many of them teenagers and young adults--who are emotionally wounded and scarred. Some of them have grown up in families devastated by alcohol or drug addiction, abuse of many kinds and other traumas. The very idea of "family" is for them a source of hurt and confusion, rather than a source of warmth and security.
