Holland graduated from Harvard and then moved into New York City's
Harlem neighborhood to dedicate himself to improving the plight
of the homeless. This true story illustrates the impact one person
can make on a seemingly insurmountable social problem, given the
proper determination and motivation. Holland becomes the Commissioner
of Housing for the state of New York, and alters the destiny of
thousands of homeless people in Harlem and beyond. This critically
acclaimed film by writer-director-producer Allen Wolf has gathered
multiple awards, including the Carl Lerner Award, the Malcolm J.
Ross Award, the Excellence in Filmmaking Award, and finalist status
in the student film category of the Academy Awards. The grace and
commitment of one man and his calling will inspire your students.
