Outbreaks
of school violence leave us feeling frustrated and helpless.
Popular recording artist Steven Curtis Chapman has
seen the devastation up close. He graduated from the Paducah, Kentucky
high school where a student shot up a prayer meeting, killing three
classmates and wounding several others. Chapman hosts this illuminating
documentary designed to help prevent youth violence.
There's no magic solution, but this video reveals
some crucial warning signs and offers concrete ways to diminish
the likelihood of violence at school. While no single warning sign
should be taken as an indication that a student is about to commit
a violent act, these warnings can help both students and teachers
spot the potential and offer preventive measures. (Includes sobering
interviews with family members of the students who were killed in
the Paducah shootings.)
